The Highgate Astrologer Privacy Notice

 

This Privacy Notice sets out why and how The Highgate Astrologer (Daliah Roth) uses your data. It is written in accordance with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), which was introduced on 25th May 2018.

Daliah works in compliance with GDPR and is registered with the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO) (registration number: ZA500528). By getting in touch about an astrological reading, the client confirms that they have understood the information below and consent to the use of their data as described.

 

Who I am 

I am Daliah Roth and I run The Highgate Astrologer, giving astrological readings either online or in person. You can contact me via email at info@thehighgateastrologer.com or using the online form on The Highgate Astrologer website (https://thehighgateast.wpengine.com/). I am the business’s Data Protection Officer and I am responsible for how your data is used.

 

Why I need your data

I only use your data in relation to the projects I am working on for you or that I have worked on in the past. The minimum I need from you is an email address and your birth data (date, time and place), so that I can book in your consultation, conduct the necessary research and request payment. If you do not provide me with an email address, then I will not be able to complete your reading. Note that I also use your email address to send any necessary PayPal invoices/requests.

If you wish to receive news about events, articles and other related information about my work, you may sign up for my newsletter on my website. If you sign up for my newsletter, this is all you will receive, and you will not be contacted by me for any other reasons. You may opt out of this newsletter at any time.

Additionally, some of the following may be requested across the course of our working relationship: Skype name, PayPal details, phone number(s), biographical information and postal address (in the rare case where a client has requested for a recording or written material to be sent).

 

Why I use your data 

The only reasons that I will use your personal data are as follows:

  • Because you have requested information from me or have booked in/received a reading. In order to deliver what you have asked for, I will need to communicate with you via email and possibly Skype. As such, your email address and other personal data that you provide will be stored in 123 Reg and I may add you on Skype. I also need to put certain data into Solar Fire, which is astrology software, and PayPal (to request payment). The lawful basis for this is: 1) consent, because you have asked me to carry out a specific task and I need to use your data to do so; and 2) contract, because I need to process your data in order to fulfil my side of our work agreement.
  • Because you have signed up for my newsletter, which will contain information about events, articles and other news. The lawful basis for this is consent, because you have provided me with your email address when you signed up to my newsletter on my website.

 

Sharing your data

I do not share data with third parties for any purpose at any time. Your details will be stored on the software I use as part of my business – 123 Reg, Skype, PayPal and Solar File.

All of your data is kept entirely confidential, is stored securely, and is never sold or passed on to anyone else, for any reason. No person other than me has access to this data, in whatever form it is held.

 

How long I keep your data

Emails and data on Solar Fire are stored indefinitely and only I have access to this information. This enables me to look through any previous correspondence and information that may be relevant to current or future work.

Any printed copies of notes, emails, astrological charts and information sheets are securely retained for a period of up to 14 years after a client’s reading; this complies with the recommendations of the Association of Professional Astrologers International (APAI) and/or legal requirements.

For accounting and legal reasons, your financial data will be stored for at least seven years.

If you would like me to delete your details or any information about you after a period of time, then I can do so, provided it is not needed for accounting purposes.

 

Your rights

You have the right to request access to the data I hold on you at any time. You also have the right to correct or delete any personal data or restrict my processing of it. If, in the past, you have given me consent to use your data, then you are entitled to withdraw this consent at any time. You can request any of these actions by contacting me on the details given above.
